E-Bit is a smart tool worn on the wrist of teachers and students that allows a variety of tasks to be completed efficiently. E-Bit is equipped with many sensors and tools to create a seamless and exciting educational experience. Furthermore, the source code for E-Bit is open source and so outside developers can create apps that utilize the impressive suite of hardware that E-Bit has to offer.

Features
Global Positioning System: Geolocation technology built into the E-Bit allow accuracy within 50 cm. Attendance can be automated. Fitness tracking apps can use the GPS to develop stats on movement. Mapping apps can be used in Geocaching or other geography assignments.
Accelerometer: This will also be used by fitness tracking apps but can further be utilized for various gesture induced applications. At the simplest level, student response applications can respond to "thumbs up" and "thumbs down". Integration with computers around school can allow touch free scrolling and navigation.
Cameras: The E-Bit has 3 built-in cameras. The lens on the top and bottom of the wrist point to the fingertips and will be utilized by a number of programs to track gestures and movements, giving unprecedented control over integrated software. A camera on the face of the E-Bit allows for video conferencing, high resolution digital photography, and facial recognition security features. The cameras will allow integration with a variety of platforms by facilitating the reading of QR codes or interaction with other peripherals such as clickable paper.
Microphone: To record voice notes, enable speech recognition, and facilitate calls and conferences.
Messaging: The E-Bit allows messaging between E-Bits over the schools Wi-Fi network or a region’s cellular network. Students and teachers can message individuals or groups. Continually updated security software ensures the safety and privacy of the system.
Heart Rate Monitor: The wearer’s heartrate is monitored by two LED lights on the underside of the device. Never has gym class had such exact measurements.
Connectivity: Bluetooth 4.1 and 802.11n Wi-Fi for incredible connection speeds and flawless communication with peripherals. The E-Bit acts as a continually connected student response system.
